Wally Kronzer is a fourth-generation Texan who was born in Houston Texas in 1954. His father Jim was a noted appellate attorney and University of Texas graduate. His mother Dorothy was a noted Baylor University graduate with a long service record to the university, including as a university regent and president of the Baylor Alumni Association.

Wally grew up in Houston. A member of South Main Baptist Church of Houston since birth, he has been a deacon there for over twenty-five years. He met his wife Kathy there during high school. They were married in 1977 after Kathy graduated from the University of Houston with a B.BA in Marketing. They are the parents of three adult sons, Chris, Chase, and Corey. Their family grew when Chase and Anna Nguyen married in June 2009.

At the time of his marriage to Kathy, Wally worked in the Harris County District Clerk's Office. His duties related to the administration of the various Harris County civil district courts. For months he served as the ancillary docket clerk working with the courts as they considered the daily filed injunctions and requests for restraining orders. He later served as the full time clerk of the 80th District Court serving first the Honorable Judge Madison Rayburn, and then the Honorable Judge Alice Bonner.

After then working for several years in non law related industries, Wally chose to pursue a law career. He finished at the University of Houston while working part-time, graduating in 1985 with a BA degree in Psychology. Wally graduated from South Texas College of Law within two and one-half years while clerking part-time. At South Texas College of Law he was part of its nationally acclaimed advocacy program. He participated as a speaker or brief writer on six national moot court or mock trial teams. While he was at South Texas College of Law, he was elected to membership in the Order of Lytae, and participated on the South Texas Law Review.

Licensed to practice law in 1988, Wally began his career with Scott, Douglass & Luton. He joined Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Ballard & Friend in 1991. On April 21, 1997, he opened Walter James Kronzer, III, P.C. During his career he represented both sides of the docket in personal injury, commercial litigation, and family law matters. His work is primarily as an appellate attorney. The Texas Board of Legal Specialization certified him as Board Certified in Civil Appellate Law in 1996.

Wally is a cancer survivor who chose to involve himself in CanCare, a volunteer cancer support network. As such, he helps provide support counseling at Methodist Hospital in Houston. For example, he was a member of West University Little league for eighteen years, including more than ten years on the board of directors. He is also a member of West University Place Rotary Club and is a Paul Harris Fellow.

At this point in his life, in light of his family and health changes, he realized he had the opportunity to pursue a longtime desire to serve Texans in another manner other than how he had been doing - seeking to be elected for Justice, the 14th Court of Appeals, Place 5.
